Following a ten-year partnership, SOCOTEC, formerly ESG, and the UK’s leading provider of testing, inspection and compliance services – has won a £100,000, three-year contract to provide asbestos consultancy services for Brent Council.
Brent Council provides direct housing management services to more than 9,500 council tenants and 3,000 leaseholders in the London Borough of Brent.
Under the renewed agreement, which will run until 2020, SOCOTEC will be providing technical support to Brent Council to help manage any risk of asbestos across its portfolio of multi-occupancy residential blocks and other properties. These services will include comprehensive asbestos surveys, bulk sampling of potential asbestos containing materials (ACMs) and air testing analysis within vacant residences as well as in the communal areas of buildings. Asbestos awareness training will also be offered by SOCOTEC for Council staff and contractors, under the organisation’s UKATA registration.
