Statistics can intrigue us, shock us or annoy us – but if they’re being compiled at all they’re definitely of interest to somebody.
Information has been recorded over a period of many years to give a better understanding of the air quality in Europe, and, in particular, emissions released from industrial processes.
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has gathered some superb resources pertaining to emissions of air pollutants in the UK, including a statistical release called Emissions of air pollutants in the UK, 1970-2010.
