Austrian Standards Institute
Austrian Standards Institute is a neutral and independent service organisation – not a federal authority or agency. As a private non-profit association (Österreichisches Normungsinstitut) it provides (since 1920) the platform for the development of norms, rules and standards.
Companies, federal authorities, science and consumers take advantage of this service. In the committees, they design the contents of the rules and standards which they require and apply in practice.

Cogent
Cogent is the UK's industry skills body for chemicals, pharmaceuticals, nuclear, oil and gas, petroleum and polymer businesses, and we also have a key role in meeting the skills needs of emerging technologies.
As an employer-led Sector Skills Council (SSC), we work with industry to research and forecast skills needs and develop fit-for-purpose standards and qualifications and other skills solutions.

DAkkS
DAkkS (Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle) is the national accreditation body of the Federal Republic of Germany. It is legally mandated to carry out accreditations of conformity assessment bodies.
DAkkS as an independent accreditation body assesses in about 4500 cases the technical competence of accred- ited laboratories, inspection and certification bodies, whose services are needed in all sectors of industry. Through accreditation DAkkS confirms that these bodies are competent in conducting their tasks in accordance with the applicable requirements. In short: DAkkS con- trols the controllers (certifiers, testing laboratories, etc.).
Hence DAkkS has an important role to play in strengthen- ing the quality infrastructure and underpinning the German economy.

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) is a government department in the UK.

IWA
The Inland Waterways Association (IWA) is a registered charity, founded in 1946, which advocates the conservation, use, maintenance, restoration and development of the inland waterways for public benefit.
IWA members’ interests include boating, towing path walking, industrial archaeology, nature conservation and many other activities associated with the inland waterways.

NASC
Founded in 1945 the NASC membership now accounts for a significant share of the UK's total industry workload and is increasingly making its mark in Europe. Our members operate from locations throughout the UK.
The NASC's operates a strict policy of full compliance to all new legislation and its own code of conduct. This separates us from the rest of the industry. Through our annual membership audit we ensure that our members uphold best practice as professionals. This means we do not look for shortcuts on safety, which could put lives at risk.
Leading By Example
Few trade associations can claim to have achieved so much in such a short time. The NASC - The National Access & Scaffolding Confederation has been the established national representative employers organisation for the UK Access and Scaffolding Industry for more than 60 years.
In recent years the NASC has become a highly visible and vocal body on all major issues, and more representative of the industry as a whole. For many, both within the construction industry and the media, the NASC is now one of the leading trade associations.

The Institute of Acoustics
The Institute of Acoustics is the UK's professional body for those working in acoustics, noise and vibration. It was formed in 1974 from the amalgamation of the Acoustics Group of the Institute of Physics and the British Acoustical Society (a daughter society of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers). The Institute of Acoustics is a nominated body of the Engineering Council, offering registration at Chartered and Incorporated Engineer levels. The Institute has some 3000 members from a rich diversity of backgrounds, with engineers, scientists, educators, lawyers, occupational hygienists, architects and environmental health officers among their number. This multidisciplinary culture provides a productive environment for cross-fertilisation of ideas and initiatives. The range of interests of members within the world of acoustics is equally wide, embracing such aspects as aerodynamics, architectural acoustics, building acoustics, electroacoustics, engineering dynamics, noise and vibration, hearing, speech, underwater acoustics, together with a variety of environmental aspects. The International Association of Oil & Gas producers (OGP) encompasses most of the world’s leading publicly-traded, private and state-owned oil & gas companies, oil & gas associations and major upstream service companies. OGP members produce more than half the world’s oil and about one third of its gas.
The association was formed in 1974 to develop effective communications between the upstream industry and an increasingly complex network of international regulators. Originally called the E&P Forum, in 1999 the name International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (OGP) was adopted.
An essential part of OGP’s mission (see also Vision, Mission & Objectives) is to represent the interests of the upstream industry before international regulators and legislators. From its headquarters in London, OGP represents the industry in such UN bodies as the International Maritime Organization and the Commission for Sustainable Development. UKAS
The United Kingdom Accreditation Service is the sole national accreditation body recognised by government to assess, against internationally agreed standards, organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection and calibration services.
Accreditation by UKAS demonstrates the competence, impartiality and performance capability of these evaluators.
UKAS is a non-profit-distributing private company, limited by guarantee. UKAS is independent of Government but is appointed as the national accreditation body by the Accreditation Regulations 2009 (SI No 3155/2009) and operates under a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government through the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills.

WMA
The Water Monitoring Association (WMA) represents the interests of companies involved in all aspects of water monitoring.
It was formed in mid 2007 to influence the development of standards, equipment, personnel and applications that affect qualitative and quantitative water monitoring.
The objectives of the Association are to;
· provide an independent technical resource for members and their clients;
· influence appropriate industry standards, codes, safety procedures and operating principles;
· encourage the professional development and a high level of ethical conduct of industry personnel;
· seek co-operative endeavours with other professional organisations, institutions and regulatory bodies, nationally and internationally.
Membership is open to any company or individual that has an interest in the monitoring of water and related fields.
WMA provides articles for leading industrial magazines variety of topics related to this market sector.
Development of British Standards is a key function for the association and WMA representatives attend the BSI EH3/6 management committee. We will be sending representatives to all relevant European (CEN) and International (ISO) working groups assisting in the development of new standards.
The Association’s web site consists of public and member’s areas and will be expanded to include relevant guidance and support to members and their clients.
